Our Rotary NORWAY TrainTour is a special pre-convention journey created for Rotarians attending the 2027 Rotary International Convention in Barcelona. Before the convention begins, spend 12 days with fellow Rotarians exploring Norway's spectacular landscapes, historic towns, and scenic railways.
Beginning in Bodø and ending in Bergen, we travel through Trondheim, Åndalsnes, Oslo, and Flåm. Along the way, we experience everything from historic towns and vibrant cities to dramatic fjords, mountain valleys, and some of Norway's most famous scenery.
This journey includes several of Norway's most scenic railways, including the Flåm Railway, Rauma Railway, and Nordland Line, as well as stretches of the Dovre Line through the country's mountainous interior. We also enjoy a scenic fjord ferry journey from Flåm to Bergen, panoramic viewpoints, historic sites, and cultural experiences that showcase different sides of Norway.
For guests continuing on to Barcelona, there is a convenient midday flight from Bergen on the day the tour ends. In early September, Haliburton Rotary and TravelMaven will also be releasing a Convention Package for those wanting to explore Barcelona before the convention begins.
Whether you have always dreamed of visiting Norway, experiencing the Midnight Sun, or simply enjoying some of the world's most scenic train travel, this journey brings it all together.
PLEASE NOTE: Guests are welcome to join the tour whether or not they plan to attend the 2027 Rotary International Convention in Barcelona following the tour. However, should space become limited, priority will be given to those attending the convention. We plan to offer a Barcelona package that will be released in September when Rotary International opens their registration.

Our first stop is Bodø, a coastal town just above the Arctic Circle. During our stay, guests can choose between a visit to Saltstraumen, one of the world’s strongest tidal currents, or the Norwegian Aviation Museum, which offers a look at the country’s aviation history.

Next up is Trondheim, a historic city known for its colourful waterfront and rich past as a former Viking capital. We spend two nights here, with enough time to visit the iconic Nidaros Cathedral and explore the city centre. With its relaxed college town atmosphere, Trondheim offers a nice balance between history and everyday Norwegian life.

Next, we travel to Åndalsnes, a small town set among some of Norway’s most dramatic mountain scenery. Surrounded by steep peaks and deep valleys, it is known as a gateway to the Romsdalen region. During our stay, we take in the views from the Romsdalen Gondola and enjoy time exploring the area.

Our next stop is Oslo, Norway’s capital, known for its modern architecture and waterfront setting. We spend two full days, including a walk through the city centre and plenty of time to visit Vigelandsparken, Akershus Fortress and the Norsk Folkemuseum.

One of our tour features is a ferry ride from Bergen to Flåm, a small village set at the end of the Sognefjord, surrounded by steep mountains and calm waters. After some time to explore the village, we will ride head out of the valley on the Flam Bahn historic railway before returning to Bergen.

We end in Bergen, Norway’s historic gateway to the fjords, known for its colourful harbour, surrounding mountains, and UNESCO listed Bryggen Wharf. We explore the city centre, wander the historic waterfront, and ride the Fløibanen Funicular for views over the harbour and fjords.
